Hello everyone,
Well, I have Norton antivirus and Norton firewall on my computer, but I'd like to try AVG. I know that I have to disable Norton antivirus to get AVG, but do I also have to get rid of the Norton firewall? Although I'd like to get a new antivirus program, I also have to keep my firewall. I looked at the "add or remove programs", and the antivirus and firewall are separate, but I'm just not sure if I can get rid of one, and not the other. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, AVG works great. If I were you, I would get rid of Norton, and everything that has to do with it. I hate norton personally. There are some free firewalls out there, like Outpost, and Zone alarm. They are free, along with AVG. If you have any questions, please email me at

i found microsoft live 1 care, for $40, at wall mart, much better then mcafee and norten but it will not work with norten, you can get a free 90 day trial at windows web sight, for it and, i think you can find a good deal online, works well with jaws and does more then scanning and fire wall, works with windows defender, checks your computer for missing updates as well as backing up your files, plus it can tune up your computer for you, i think it's great.

Microsoft one care and any of microsoft's products aren't any good in my opinion. There have been a lot of security holes exploited with it.

I use the microsoft firewall that came with my pc, and it works just fine. I have just started using the beta version of windows defender, and it seems okay.
